Every year hundreds of families attend the Burkhart Walk for Autism Awareness!
On this day, we walk to raise awareness of autism spectrum disorders while celebrating the lives of individuals living with autism, their families, and the professionals who work with them. This is a kid-friendly event, and you will find inflatables, games, and other activities for children. We hope to have special appearances from the Masked Rider, Raider Red, and even a few Star Wars and Disney characters! In addition, agency representatives and autism service providers will be on hand to share information about resources available in our community. Free t-shirts will be distributed while supplies last. It will be a fun afternoon for all who attend!
All proceeds from this year’s event will fund programming at the Burkhart Center. Our mission is to increase the quality of life for individuals with autism and their families by providing services, preparing educators and conducting research.
