Students Supporting Students
Imagine you are a student and you are notified that an immediate family member has passed away. With your family consumed by funeral costs, they are unable to assist with rent and tuition. You do not qualify for financial aid and are unable to take on second part-time job. What do you do?
You are a senior with one semester standing between you and your dream of becoming a Rawls College graduate. Due to the high cost of text-book prices, you are unable to purchase the resources that are crucial to your academic success. With no funds available, you contemplate dropping out and abandoning the goal you set for yourself three years ago. What do you do? What does your future hold?
After identifying a growing need, our students banded together to create a fund for Rawls students funded by students and the Rawls College of Business community. The Rawls Student Emergency Fund exists to alleviate the financial barriers that often accompany difficult situations. This fund seeks to ensure every student graduates and that their college experience is not derailed simply because they cannot afford basic resources to support their studies. We wish to support students and their goal of becoming a college graduate so that they can provide a better future for themselves and their family.
By encouraging students and our Rawls community to support this initiative, we aim to strengthen the bonds between our Rawls Raiders and encourage a culture of support and empathy. By making a donation, you give students the opportunity to overcome challenging life events and continue on the path to graduation and personal success.
